Sweet Sliced Corn and Carrot Medley | Ready Chef Go Bags

 

Ready. Chef. Go® Steam Cooking Bags help this delicious side dish cook to perfection.  

Serves 3-4

  • 6 carrots (regular or multicolored), peeled and sliced
  • 2 ears of sweet corn, shucked with the kernels sliced off the cob
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh thyme
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Pinch of kosher salt, sprinkled
  • 1 Ready. Chef. Go!® Microwave and Oven Steam Cooking Bag

 

In a mixing bowl, add in the sliced carrots and corn. Add in the salt, thyme, and olive oil and toss thoroughly to ensure that all of the ingredients are evenly spread. Put half of the corn and carrot medley in one Ready. Chef. Go!® bag and put the remainder in a second bag. Seal both bags.

Conventional Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place both bags on a baking sheet and cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until the carrots are soft.

Microwave: Cook each bag in the microwave, one at a time, at full power for 5 minutes or until the carrots are soft.

Wait a full minute before opening the bag and let the food stand to cool. Make a small cut or incision in the corner of the bag to pour any excess liquid out into the sink. Cut the bag and then plate to serve to complement your main course.
