Brown Sugar Salmon with Green Beans and Carrots

Here’s a recipe that tastes as good as it looks. Perfect for the grill or oven, one of the beauties of this recipe is its’ simplicity; all of the ingredients are straightforward and easy to find at practically any grocery store. The sweet brown sugar and chili powder complement the salmon so well, even non-seafood eaters may like this one.

Serves 2

  • 6 to 8 ounces of salmon filets
  • 1½ to 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of chili powder or your favorite spice blend
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
  • ½lb of green beans, trimmed
  • 1 cup of carrots, sliced
  • ⅓ cup of Italian dressing
  • Citrus and fresh herbs for garnish
  • 1 Ready. Chef. Go!® Grilling and Oven Bag

Mix the sugar and spices together and season with salt and pepper to taste. Rub the salmon filets with a bit of olive oil and then coat the top side of the filets with the spice blend. Place the veggies, Italian dressing, and the remaining olive oil in a Ready. Chef. Go!® grilling bag and shake it lightly to combine the ingredients. Top the bed of vegetables with the coated salmon filets and then seal the bag.

Grill: BBQ on a grill with the lid open and the foil side facing down on a medium flame for 15 to 20 minutes or until fully cooked.

Conventional Oven: Preheat the oven to 450° F and roast for 15 to 20 minutes or until fully cooked.

Wait a few minutes for the food to cool before opening the bag and then plate to serve. Garnish the plated entrée with sliced citrus and fresh herbs of your choice.
