Sweet and Sour Vegetables with Meatballs

Sweet and Sour Meatballs make a tasty and quick weeknight meal for anyone. This recipe is extremely easy to prepare and has loads of flavor, even though it has few ingredients. If you are vegan or vegetarian, don’t feel left out since you can simply substitute the meatballs with “meatless” meatballs.

  • 6 beef, chicken, pork, or vegan meatballs, fully cooked
  • 3 cups of your favorite vegetable medley, bite size pieces (sweet bell peppers, baby broccoli, cooked golden beats, scallions, and radicchio pictured)
  • ¾ cup of sweet and sour sauce (jarred or freshly made)
  • Fresh herbs and chopped scallions for garnish
  • 1 Ready. Chef. Go!® Microwave and Oven Steam Cooking Bag

Put the cut vegetables in a Ready. Chef. Go!® bag and pour the sweet and sour sauce on top. Shake the bag lightly to mix the vegetables with the sauce. Add the meatballs to the bag and seal it shut.

Conventional Oven: Preheat the oven to 400° F. Place the bag on a baking sheet and cook for 20 to 30 minutes.

Microwave: Place the bag on a microwave-safe dish and microwave on high for 4 minutes.

Let the bag cool for 1 to 2 minutes and then cut it open and plate the meal to serve. Garnish with fresh herbs and chopped scallions.
